Jobs and AI

Marketing and PR

Content-heavy marketing and PR work is highly exposed to generative AI.

How to read this page. No source gives a reliable "risk score" for individual UK jobs, so we don't invent one. We summarise what named studies say. The Department for Education's report measures exposure to AI (how far AI could touch the abilities a job uses), not whether jobs will be lost or helped, and it says its results "should be interpreted with caution". Read the sources and make up your own mind.

What the evidence says

DfE (2023) lists marketing associate professionals 20th for AI exposure overall, and public relations professionals 9th for exposure to large language models.
WEF Future of Jobs 2025 lists AI and big data, and technological literacy, among the fastest-growing skills.

What it means in practice

Our summary, based on the sources above. It's general guidance, not a prediction.

  • First drafts, image generation and reporting are changing fastest.
  • Strategy, brand judgement, understanding customers and checking accuracy are worth more.
  • Be careful with claims: UK ads must follow the rules set by the ASA, whoever (or whatever) wrote them.
